Horrific CCTV footage shows Colombian gang member shoot dead a sleeping homeless man as gruesome target practice

Killer, 19, executes innocent man in south western city of Santiago de Cali


He first checks to see if man is asleep before shooting him in the head
 

Colombian city is one of the most dangerous in the world, with 1,000 people murdered there since the start of the year

This is the chilling moment a drug gang member decides to practice his execution skills on a live target by shooting dead a sleeping homeless man.
A CCTV camera captured the cold-blooded execution of the innocent man in the city of Santiago de Cali, situated in south-western Colombia's Valle del Cauca region.


The dead man was one of 1,000 people murdered in the city since the beginning of the year, according to officials.

On camera: CCTV captures the moment a local gang member fired a bullet into the head of a homeless man

The footage shows how the man approaches the homeless person and checks to see if he is asleep, before firing a bullet into his head.
An autopsy confirmed that the man on the ground died instantly. The killer thought he got away with it but he was later arrested and identified thanks to the CCTV footage.
His name has not been made public, but police confirmed he is only 19 and a member of one of the local drug trafficking gangs.

Reports say the motive for the killing was that he wanted to 'practice' his gun skills on a living victim.
