A bullied 12-year-old girl hanged herself in the bedroom of her home in England because she was tortured by the pressures of social media, authorities said.

Jessica Scatterson of Warrington “felt emotionally overwhelmed” by the “intensity of her activity on social media” before she committed suicide nearly two years ago, according to a newly released coroners office investigation, cited Tuesday by the UK Metro.
The troubled tween received mean-spirited messages on her iPad in the days leading up to her tragic death in April 2017, according to the paper.
She also posted an ominous photo of her foot next to the phrase “RIP” on social media, just hours before committing suicide — prompting friends to call police, according to the report. Cops woke up her father, who discovered her lifeless body, surrounded by toys and stuffed animals, the outlet reported.

In her room, authorities later found notes and drawings about death and suicide along with the name of Scatterson’s alleged bully and a photo of a peer’s face scratched off.
“These [notes]contained references of suicide and death and a hand-drawn picture of someone being hanged,” Inspector Hannah Friend said in the report.

Days before her death, Scatterson came home from school with scratches on her face and a swollen eye from a fight with another girl, Friend said.
Her body was found at 3:45 a.m. on April 22, 2017. She would have turned 13 two days later.
